St Alphonsa Public School & Junior College, Kudamaloor is founded in the name of St Alphonsa, the first officially canonized Indian Saint. A native of Kudamaloor by birth, St Alphonsa spent the early years of her life in the premises where the school is situated now. Herself a teacher by profession and a nun by calling, St Alphonsapassionately guided the children and loved them beyond their social status. The school is founded to honourthe noble soul from the hamlet of Kudamaloor and to impart schooling according to the lofty academic ideals this cloistered nun cherished in her life. Established in the year 2007, this institutionadheres to the catholic policy on secular education which counts schools as extended arms of the Church.
